Sponsorship and Funding

Foundation first team’s challenges

-Autonomy from the government; with the help of the private sector financing  a training of excellence, in order to offer a useful  service to the well-being of society and in order to offer a major active participation in audiovisual production, which is created by the students and members of the foundation

-To measure first team’s effectiveness not only by its popularity (1500 actors in 11 years) but also by its contribution to the audiovisual sector as a useful and ethical service. Being capable of bringing the first team actor community together with motivated professionals in a continuous training, first team encourages ethical and responsible practice, though observing the values and professional ethic that first team endeavors to maintain.

-First team’s effectiveness to be proven successful if the feedback given by first team students demonstrates an objective to give intensity to the viewer’s quality of life, and not satisfaction with their vocation being just ‘a way of killing time.’

-To learn management skills through communication and contact with the sponsors, partners and friends of first team, offering training in audiovisual communication to board members and to the directors of a company, by means of personal tutorials.

-The integration of people at risk of social exclusion, and people of all disabilities, in all of our training programs.

Our Audience

Since the opening of FT, many great students have passed through our centre; young people looking for university training to develop their vocation and students that are exercising their profession and that are interested in the continuous, universal education in the audiovisual section, which is what our pioneering foundation provides. Year after year the number of enrolled students has increased hugely as have the learning initiatives, due to the high level of satisfaction amongst our student actors and directors.

Here are some responses from students surveyed at the end of their course:

The students are interested in making cinema their way of life. Their ages vary between 15 to 50 years old, concentrated mainly between 25 and 35. They are young, independent students, interested in culture and cinema as an artistic expression, but also in the higher participation in social projects, motivated by direct dialogue with the viewer and influential topics.

Current cinema and TV professionals, that look for differentiating values like the development of ‘natural’ techniques, that look for the most effective communication techniques, or look for an improvement to their creative talent, and that have an enormous ability to be able to work in a team, find in first team a common language and a sense of belonging and community.

The audiovisual sector is home to more than 15 000 people in this country. In 2010, over 100 films were produced. The production of TV series and TV movies has increased enormously in recent years. Fiction, today, is one of the most powerful cultural tools in the world: with its magical combination of images, plot and music; film or audiovisual work contributes to comprehension and, inspires an instant and direct emotional response.

It is a sector with huge business potential, especially considering that we have yet to quantify its growth in social websites and in new forms of global distribution. In 2008, it made up around 30% of admissions into the total area of content production and since then, it has not stopped growing. The growth in this area has been constant, apart from the fall in the sector as a whole (source: 2009b).

Governmental politics exist to propel the audiovisual production in Europe and Latin America. The cinema training is a cultural tool with a positive image mark, offering emotional impact upon the select viewer.

First team’s training programs are not only of interest to a theatre, cinema or TV actor, but also for all the professionals of the audiovisual sector (script writers, directors, representatives, producers).

To invest in the pioneering and prestigious training offered by first team amplifies the connection of the company with a sector which serves society as a reference and a reflection. The actors and professionals of the audiovisual tend to be pioneers in their form of conduct, above all, when seen with their friends, classmates and family.

To invest in first team, is to appreciate the diversity and values that a company in collaboration with first team offers to society, and therefore to that majority of people who engage in the entertainment and leisure industry, in order to improve our cinema and our television.
